A Shower for Baby

These days, when visiting the fam, it's all about babies. My little sister, now sporting an impressive belly, is expecting her first at the end of June. I get to be an auntie again! I paid a recent visit for the baby shower, as well as to see her in the third trimester, and holy moly! It's hard to believe that my little sister, my former barbie playmate, is so huge. Here are some highlights from the shower, lot's of laughs and some of the cutest stuff for an itsy bitsy baby. Our belly portrait session is soon to follow.

Some pretty details:

The beautiful cake.

Adorable lip balm party favors.

Diaper pins for baby-inspired games.

The mommy.

Krista gets some practice with the youngest party attendant.

Check out this pumpkin pie!

Everyone hard at work drawing babies on their heads...

Whoa belly!

My cutie momma.

A couple of my sister's hilarious expressions...

Hmmm, what do you think they are talking about?

One of my gifts ordered online didn't come in time, so I had to print an example. In case you can't read it, it says "my aunt is the shiznit." I love it!

Got milk?

Apparently I was the only one who thought this product's name was ridiculous (I was the only one laughing).

Figaro (the pug) even provided a gift.

Rob came home after the party and inspected the presents. It didn't take him long to find his favorite, the perfect accessory for his new wingman. I am sure they have lots of great ball games in their future! We all look forward to meeting the new "Robsta."

Princess for a day

How about a real life fairytale for your birthday party? I had the pleasure of photographing the beautiful 1st birthday of Aubrienne at the wonderful Marina Grand Hotel in New Buffalo, MI, a couple of weekends ago. Her mother planned the most amazing birthday party I have ever seen, a room full of color, candy, and magic... a spectacle for both children and adults. Aubrienne was the perfect princess, complete with mini tiara and lots of smiles. Several of the other children acted out a special fairy tale story written just for the birthday girl. They played "Happy Birthday" on the violin, indulged in candy and cake, then went to town at the craft table with paint and glitter. Here are some of my favorites from the day.

Beautiful details...

Friends and family helped with the final touches.

The birthday princess, isn't she the cutest?

The guests arrived...

A special fairy tale performance for the birthday girl.

First birthday candle.
She was all smiles!

Yummy cake!

She was tuckered out by the end, a well deserved rest after a great party. Happy Birthday Aubrienne!
