Celebrity Chef on the rise!

I had a recent photo shoot with a very amazing couple, Kristie and Niall. They are an awesome husband and wife team, operating the restaurant "Firefly" in Effingham, IL. This oasis of American fresh cuisine boasts a daily menu, and the freshest ingredients. They even grow their herbs and vegetables in their very own garden! The positive press buzzing around this restaurant is an indication of a great things happening, sure to lead to much recognition in the culinary world. Look out, Chef Niall is coming at ya!

Smokin' hot!

Remembering Mama VerBurg

I have had the wonderful privilege of photographing the VerBurg family over the last 5 years, from weddings, to babies, to birthdays. It has been a joy documenting so many moments, and when I heard the news that their mother had passed, I realized that I had many photos of her that I would love to share with the family again. Here is a photo slideshow of what I gathered from the archives over the last couple of days. Leticia Bautista VerBurg Klein will be loved always, and missed greatly.
My heart goes out to all of her family, Michael and Stacy, Rocky and Shelly, Julie and Dennis, and the rest of the wonderful VerBurg family.

Emma's Baptism

The newest member of the VerBurg family was recently baptized, little Emma. It is always such a pleasure to document this family, I have had the joy of seeing it grow and expand over the last 5 years, from weddings to babies. The family gathered on a beautiful Sunday and went to church.

Isn't she precious?

We gathered the cousins for a photo, but they weren't too happy about it.

And then there were tears...

The family.

Here comes the holy water

I couldn't resist this photo opp once the church had cleared out.

Cousin Brianna was all smiles when desert was served.

The cousins with their Grandma.

Congratulations Emma!

She's Having a Baby!

While visiting my sister last month, we took a few photos to document her growing belly. It was amazing to see my little sister so very pregnant! She has always been stunning, but I couldn't help but notice how beautiful she looked as an expectant mother, it suits her so well. I wanted to share a few of the photos that really make me smile.

Figaro, their pug, wanted in on our portrait session. He is preparing for his role as big brother.

Figaro picked this one out himself.

I love these two.

What? You're pregnant?

Such a beautiful belly!

Happy May Day!

It's May 1st, and that's MAY DAY! So tie ribbons around the maypole, it's time to celebrate. According to online sources, "May Day marks the end of the uncomfortable winter half of the year in the Northern hemisphere, and it has traditionally been an occasion for popular and often raucous celebrations." Drinking good wine, eating good food, celebrating with good friends... here's another great excuse to indulge (besides the upcoming cinco de mayo). After all, this holiday is what inspired the name "Maypole Studios"
