Saba and Ibrahim are engaged!

I recently had the pleasure of photographing the beautiful and oh-so-colorful engagement party for Saba and Ibrahim. In a similar fashion to the wedding day, all of the family gathers to celebrate and exchange gifts, the biggest being a lovely sparkly for Saba's dainty hand. They both looked spectacular, and despite the required solemness of the occasion and the fact that, due to tradition, they are not allowed to touch, the looks they exchanged said it all. Their love is sweet and darling, it is plain to see that they are in perfect sync. I loved the color choices, and Shaadi Creations (www.shaadicreations.net) put together a beautiful backdrop for the event. If this is a foreshadowing of next year's wedding, I am in for a treat!

There were many gifts from the Groom's family to the bride.

The bride arrives...

The ring is given.

Everyone is impressed by the new bling!

Two thumbs way up.

My favorite tradition, all of the family shares cake together.

The lovely couple...

Saba and Ibrahim, see you next year!

Photo of the week

While in the midst of editing photos today (somewhere in the thousands), I was looking through photos from last weekend. I think this one is my favorite, Jeremy and Caitlin were sharing a moment out on the pier, unaware of the perfect photo opportunity.

Fireside Friends

The husband and I spent July 4th this year in Door County, WI. No phone, no internet, just some good friends gathered around a campfire, drinking whiskey and playing songs. Truly awesome!

Little Jax

I recently dropped off a wedding album in person to the lovely Megan (a bride from 2009), and had the joy of meeting her new son, Jax. He is only 2 months old, and I couldn't resist waking him from a nap to snap a few photos. It's amazing to be a part of new beginnings, from weddings to babies, and I was happy to catch a few cute photos of this little guy.

Little toes...

A giant yawn for the camera...

What a cutie!
