A Wicker Park Engagement

Nancy and Erik seem to be perpetually sharing a great inside joke, they exchange smiles and giggles as they walk hand in hand around the Wicker Park neighborhood. They are best friends, darling and in-sync. I was thrilled when they suggested we walk around and take photos in front of their favorite graffiti'd walls, there were a few I had spotted recently that I had been dying to photograph. So many cool colors created a great backdrop for this super cute couple, a wonderful and vibrant urban setting for their sweet glances and displays of affection. We had a blast roaming around finding new nooks for our photos. Thanks to you for being so fun to work with, I can't wait for your wedding in November! (at the fabulous Architectural Artifacts)

Looking cool outside of Reckless Records.

How perfect is this?

A delicious root beer and two straws (and a perfect plug for Goose Island root beer)

I can't get enough of these flying hearts.

Helios Bash at the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum

Each year I make a point to contribute my time and photography services to one or more charity events in the Chicago area. This year I was asked to photograph the Helios Bash, hosted by the Society for Urban Nature (SUN). The event featured a fantastic silent auction (lots of great gifts and prizes), live entertainment from Toast and Jam DJ's and Magnolia photo booth, as well as local, sustainable cuisine and cocktails by vendors such as Limelight, HonestTea, and Green Line Pale Ale (Goose Island). This event raised money for nature and science education in Chicago. 225 young professionals and board members from the Nature Museum gathered to wine and dine, bid on fun prizes, and bust a move on the dance floor. They raised over $51,000, rock on!

The gals from "bugapalooza" kept the guests entertained with their curious creatures.

The butterfly conservatory is always a favorite.

Beautiful murals by Hector Duarte for the "Flight of the Majestic Monarch" exhibit.

The guests couldn't get enough of the Magnolia photobooth and the terrific props, there was a line at the booth all night.

The lovely Amanda of Toast and Jam DJ's kept the dance floor packed.

Outta the box

Last weekend I had a fabulous time with Holly and Mark, congrats you two! We set up a fun "outta the box" photo booth area, and I had no idea it would be so popular! Everyone couldn't get enough of the props, especially the mustaches (note to self- bring more mustaches next time), there was a line from the moment the lights were switched on and it didn't stop until the last song was played. Although there are so many photos still to edit, I had to share a little teaser of my favorites, enjoy the hilarity!
