A unique proposal- Molly & Marc

While spending time with Molly and Marc photographing their engagement session, I was able to find out all kinds of great things about them, their history, and their awesome engagement. From time to time couples blow me away with their stories, and this was no exception. I was so in love with their creative proposal that I asked Molly to describe it in her own words so I could share it with all of you. Here are two photos from our session that were inspired by her story.

Molly wrote:
"Marc and I had been together almost 5 years and we had gone ring shopping, so I knew the proposal was right around the corner. My one hope for the proposal was to be completely shocked, which was difficult considering I knew it was coming...

It was a Thursday evening and I had just gotten home from work when I received a surprising phone call. A police Sergeant from the 18th precinct called to inform me Marc had been pulled over for speeding and he didn't have his drivers license so I needed to head over to the station and pick him up. I was not pleased to hear this considering we had planned on a nice night at the Art Institute followed by dinner, and I knew Marc would be in a bad mood all evening.

I headed over to the police station and upon my arrival, I was taken into a holding cell. Marc was sitting on the bench and he looked miserable. I walked over and put my arms around him and tried my best to make him feel better. He looked up at me, apologized for ruining our date night and started rambling off everything we needed to do to remedy the situation.

"First, you need to fill out a bunch of paperwork. After that, we're going to have to pay a $300 fine because I didn't have my license on me when I was speeding. Finally, you need to spend the rest of your life with me."

As that last sentence came out of his mouth, a huge smile came across his face and I started to realize this had been an elaborate scheme from the start. He got down on one knee, pulled out a black velvet box with a gorgeous diamond ring and asked me to marry him. I didn't say yes for about 30 seconds because I was too busy hyperventilating, but as soon as I could breathe, I screamed "YES!" and gave him a huge hug and a kiss.

As we were calming down in the holding cell, Marc told me the whole story about how he pulled off the surprise. About 10 minutes after he popped the question we heard a knock on the door and the Sergeant informed us we needed to vacate the cell because the police needed to use it for an actual criminal. Everyone in the station gave us a round of applause as we walked out and I felt like the most special person in the world. I know not every girl would appreciate being proposed to in a holding cell, but I think it's the most romantic proposal I've ever heard."

Isn't that the greatest story ever?? All I can say is that I love my job. I get to know the best in people in every day, and see first hand the most wonderful love stories. Molly and Marc, you rock! I can't wait to share the rest of the photos, stay tuned.
